Welcome to Golf for Ladies, feel free to check out some the great content and resources I have on this topic.

Many believe that women cannot be good golfers, not as good as men, because they lack power and strength needed to hit powerful shots. Well, there is no need to get disheartened, because this is a misconception. Power is needed, but that does not mean that a woman cannot play this game. It is recommended for women to get a personal trainer right at the beginning since common mistakes take can develop quickly. It is best to overcome them at the initial stages. Listed below are some of the basic tips that a novice golfer needs to keep in mind before starting the game.

Balance

A golfer does not want to gain unwanted attention by losing balance and tipping off. Balance needs to be maintained throughout the game. A lot of time is spent on getting the grip right and mastering the swing, a lot of beginners do not focus on maintaining the balance. The equilibrium gained at the beginning of the swing needs to be maintained until the end, in order to keep you from falling down.

Power

If the swing, the balance, the posture and the grip are correct, power automatically gets induced in the ball before it gets hit by the club. Power comes from the feet as a whole and not from the toes alone. The feet need to be fixed firmly onto the ground before starting with the swing. Aim the ball and then strike.

Posture

Golf is a game to relax your muscles. It cannot be played if the player feels uncomfortable. The body needs to be left lose. Great shots will not come if the muscles are all tensed up. Flexibility, one of the key requisites for playing golf, will follow if the posture is right. The arms, the shoulders, the waist, the feet and the club, need to work together as a single unit. Remember to keep your head straight.

Grip

According to their frame, size of the fingers and the hands, women need to choose one of the grip options to suit their needs. A woman with small hands cannot play with the Vardon Overlap, even though it is one of the most commonly used grips.

Swing

The twist of the body along with lifting of the arms forms a complete swing. As mentioned earlier, the feet need to be fixed onto the ground in order to get that perfect swing. Any undue movement in the center may result in improper swinging which in turn leads to a bad shot.

Right Equipments

Choose your equipments in accordance with the shots that are going to be played. A basic knowledge of the clubs and their usage needs to be understood well in advance before jumping into the real game.

Shots

There are a variety of shots that you can choose from. It depends on the spot from where the game is being played. For different shots, there are different clubs available.

Focus

More commonly, golf is considered to be a mental game which requires intense concentration and calculation. This is applicable for playing even the simplest of shot. It is important for the beginner not to lose focus off the ball, while maintaining a good grip and posture. Keeping your head still and focusing your eyes on the ball can result in delivering good shots. Taking your eyes off the ball even for a second, can be devastating.
